The higher type of man cherishes justice,
the lower type of man cherishes the hope of favors to  be received.

Be Courageous And Bring About A Change !

Sometimes no matter how hard and fast you work, you still miss a deadline. Is it the end of the world if a deadline is missed, especially if the deadline is self-imposed?

Maybe, the next time there's little chance in meeting a deadline, ask for an extension and re-schedule the deadline. Give yourself permission to relax and lower your stress levels. Then you'll have more energy to get back to working harder and faster.

Think Positively To Experience Progress In Life !

At the end of the day, on the wings of your thoughts, go beyond the cares and troubles of the world. Remove your mind from everything and everyone, and become blissfully detached, like a star.

Like a star, be free to radiate light, for your essence is light and peace. Enjoy the simplicity of the night sky, the peace. And then, when you want to, you can shoot down to earth.

Keep Positive Approach & Things Will Happen For The Best !

When the oyster found that sand had got under his shell, just one little grain, he said to himself, "If I cannot remove it, I'll try to improve it."

And as time passed by, this small grain of sand had become a beautiful pearl.

When things go wrong and get under your skin, instead of asking who is to blame, start asking, "What can I do to improve the situation?"

Develop the oyster approach and transform the situation into something beautiful.

Find Positiveness In Other’s Acts !

You can have good wishes for everyone when you consider the ones who put obstacles in your way as your teachers.

When someone puts any obstacle in your way, check what feelings you are having towards that person. Check if you are able to have good wishes for them or if your attitude is becoming negative towards them. Even when someone does something wrong towards you, have the awareness that they are the ones who enabled you to learn something new and contributed for your progress. When you do this, your negative feelings will also change to positive and you will begin to have good wishes for them.

Take Up Responsibility And Experience Constant Progress !

Trying to do too much at one time will only leave you exhausted and unable to give your best.
Like a marathon runner who knows how to complete the race, pick the right pace for yourself and preserve your energy, so that you complete the task.

So, the next time, you're expecting too much from yourself, remind yourself, "If I want to see things through to completion, I have to pace myself properly."

Use A Positive Approach To Solve Problems !

By removing the curtain of negative thoughts from your mind you can see the best that is hidden behind in every scene.

Throughout the day when thing s go wrong, check if you are able to remain unaffected. Also check how far you are able to see beyond each situation and see the positive aspect that is hidden within. Each day take the thought that whatever happens is for the best. Even when things go wrong make the practice of seeing the good aspect in the situation and if you are unable to do so, remain with the faith that everything happens for the best.

Recognizing Own Values Will Bring Success & Satisfaction !

To use one value with commitment is to guarantee the use of all values.

Values are related to each other as if they were members of a great family. For the one who is committed to one value is the one who is able to emerge the other connected values. Such a person is able to add quality to everything he does and speaks. When I am able to recognise my own special value and use it with commitment in my daily life, I am able to experience success in all I do. This is because I have the satisfaction of giving my best and of having added quality to everything I do.

Get Rid of Selfishness & Move Towards Success !

You can always be successful when there is a desire to serve others.

At the end of each day, check if you have done anything for others. Also check if there is any consciousness of 'I' in all the things that you do for others. When there is even the slightest trace of a desire for benefit for yourself you cannot experience either contentment or success. Each day take up at least one thing that would bring benefit to others, irrespective of whether it will get you anything or not. When you serve with no selfishness you will find yourself succeeding in all you do.

Stop complaining about your circumstances !

It’s extremely rare to find a successful person who whines, complains, and frets about his circumstances. This is despite the fact that he may have overcome great obstacles to achieve his level of success. On the other hand, it’s extremely common for struggling individuals to continually blame their circumstances for their lack of joy and happiness.

The real question is: what came first – the attitude or the success? The answer, in virtually all cases, is that the winning, positive attitude came first, followed by a lifetime of success.

All it takes is a simple decision; the decision to stop yourself from falling into the habit of complaining about your circumstances. At first it may be difficult – even funny – to observe how often you complain.

Habits can be hard to break. But in this case, it’s well worth the effort. As an excuse of complaint comes to mind, gently shoo it away. Don’t worry about it too much. You’ll quickly get used to the nicer feelings that come from a life without complaints.

Feel The Qualities Of Our Soul !

Our original resources are very simply - peace, love, purity, knowledge and happiness. In Raja Yoga meditation these are called the five original qualities of the soul. When we return our consciousness to these five qualities and remember them, then the following feelings arise in us, which finally get reflected in our actions:

• Love: I care and I share.
• Peace: I harmonize and reconcile (adjust).
• Purity: I respect and I honour.
• Knowledge: I am and I exist.
• Happiness: I express and I enjoy.

To understand and remember these qualities, we need to recognize the heavy deep shadows or personality traits (“sanskars”) which have blotted them out, or polluted them. Sometimes we don't recognize the pollutants because they have ingrained themselves so deeply into the personality that we say ‘I am this’. True, complete spiritual knowledge, makes us aware of these pollutants and the practice of meditation empowers us to dilute them and get them out of our consciousness.

Look At Your Dependencies & Learn From Them !

Watch how many things you do during the day are dependent on how you imagine the other sees you: your husband, your friend, your child, your cousin, your aunt, your boss, the secretary or whoever. You imagine how they are going to look at you and, as a result, you mould yourself accordingly. If you depend on the look of the other, inwardly you will always feel fear. You want to please the other so that they continue to see you as you want. Because of the dependence that we have on the other to appreciate us, value us and not to reject us, we want to please them. If, in spite of doing everything possible, they do not appreciate us or are not happy, how do we feel? Cheated. After having done everything out of wanting to please them! Inside, you want to please them because you want them to keep on loving you, or you don't want them to sack you from your job, or you are afraid of being different or not being accepted. That kind of dependency takes us away from our true authenticity. If you look at yourself well, in the end, others will look at you well and the one who does not look at you well will perhaps teach you something, but your value and self-esteem do not depend on the look of the other. In this state, you are open because you trust yourself and you have personal security.

Get Out Of Your Bad Habits !

Bad habits are like a comfortable bed, easy to get into, but hard to get out of.

How to break bad habits :

  - focus on changing just one habit at a time

 - acknowledge how the habit dis-empowers you

 - realize how you alone can break the habit, no-one else can do it for you

 - separate yourself from your habit and understand that you aren't your habit

 - visualize yourself without the habit

 - replace the bad habit with something positive

 - don't focus on the "not doing", but instead, focus on " doing" the positive action

- don't beat yourself up when you slip up, just break the habit as many times as it takes

Face The Situation Positively !!

Instead of thinking of the situation, think of your own stage.

When you find yourself questioning the things that are happening in your life, ask yourself if your own stage is good. The situation might be bad, but check if your own stage is good and if you have the power to face the situation. The reason for losing the stage in a negative situation is because of negative thoughts. In order to finish such negative thoughts, remind yourself that you are learning from the things that are happening so that you can improve your own stage.

Always forgive, but never forget.

Learn from your mistakes but never regret.

Take Out Time To Relax Yourself !!

When you are full with the nourishment of happiness you will remain healthy.

Just as the body needs food each day, check if you are giving the nourishment of happiness for the well being of the mind. When the mind is healthy with this regular diet, the body will remain healthy too. In the busy schedule of the day, make sure you make time for yourself. For at least a few minutes, do something that you enjoy and which relaxes your mind. It is essential that the mind is given the food it requires everyday to keep it healthy.

Find A Weakness & Overcome It Immediately !

Be light by checking and changing at the same time.

When something goes wrong, check if you are able to find your own weakness in that situation. Also after finding that weakness in yourself, check if you are getting disheartened. If you only check, but do nothing to change yourself you will find yourself becoming heavy. As soon as you find a weakness, make sure you make out a plan for yourself so that you can bring about the necessary changes immediately to overcome that weakness. In this way you will be able to remain light even when you find your weakness.

Explore the Power To Accommodate !

Closely linked to the power of tolerance, the power to accommodate means having a heart so big and generous that I am able to rise above all differences of character and personality while interacting with other soul actors, knowing that every actor in the enormous drama of existence has a unique personality, contribution and role to play. Whereas tolerance heals wounds and removes hurt, accommodation accepts and values differences, observing them and ultimately absorbing them in my love, as an ocean absorbs the rivers that flow into it. While completing my own part as a river, I also need to be aware of God as the Ocean of Love and the Ocean of Wisdom and I as the master Ocean of Love. When I enter this consciousness through meditation, the goodness of all other soul actors becomes clear to me very naturally, and it is no effort for me to go beyond conflict and clashes of opinion.

I become like my father, the Supreme Soul who is an Ocean of Love. My father sees every actor in this world drama as his child and his love is the same for each one of them (even though they have different personalities and roles) because he has the spiritual knowledge that every soul's original nature is loveful and the present nature is just an artificial one which has been acquired while coming into the process of birth and rebirth. In the same way, I too, experience myself to be a master Ocean Of Love and see all souls as my brothers and absorb their different natures. This is the power to accommodate which I can inculcate inside me through the practice of meditation.

Taking Self Towards Success !!

You can become successful when you have humility.

In all that you do, check if you are experiencing pleasure irrespective of whether you attain success or not. Where there is humility you automatically experience happiness. Before you take up any task make sure you remind yourself to put in your best. At the same time, remind yourself that you are only trying for the success of the task that is good for all. When you take a thought in this way, you will find yourself succeeding.

Look At Yourself & Not the Situation !!

Instead of looking at situations, look at yourself and you will progress.

When something goes wrong, check your thoughts. See if you are blaming the situation or if you are looking at yourself and checking if you have gone wrong in any way. Each day pick out at least one thing that went wrong and take the lesson from it so that you could use it for the future. In this way, whatever happens you will be able to see yourself and progress instead of blaming the situation.

Cultivate the Positiveness !

We can rant on and continue to complain and criticize throughout the day. However, if everything appears negative, maybe it's our perception.

We can always find positivity in everything, if we choose to look for it. So, let's cultivate the art of seeing the glass as half full.

Don't Forget Self in Observation; Rather Be A Detached Observer & Then Intervene !

Within us we have the possibility of observing and intervening (interfering) when we wish to; that is, maintaining the balance between being an observer and acting; playing between forming part of the audience and being the actor. On being actors, sometimes we can lose ourselves in the acting of the other in his or her or their dramas; we get in so deep with what is happening to the other that we lose distance. We get mentally and emotionally involved in the other's stories. When our awareness gets lost in those stories, we stop being the creators of our own life and of our own story. This habit exhausts us; we lose energy; we lose our concentration and control over our thoughts and our emotions. We lose our inner peace and we begin to look for it again.

We can choose to observe the dance of ideas, images and acts of others, and not get involved in their complications. Only thus will we be at peace with ourselves and with the world. Remember that you create your own story. If you want to live in peace and exercise a positive influence on the people around you, don't try to control or to change the stories of others. In order to enjoy a painting you do not poke your nose onto it; you remain at a certain distance so you see it with greater clarity. The same thing occurs with the painting of life. By learning the art of being a detached observer and then intervening, of keeping a healthy distance, we manage to be connected with what is essential without losing ourselves in the waste and superfluous (excessive). That way, our intervention does not arise out of a reaction which has shades of frustration, anger and negative judgements. We are then the creators of spaces of trust and love in relationship

Attain Self Realization & Experience Higher State of Consciousness !

One aspect of practical spirituality is the practice of values such as tolerance, patience, flexibility, humility (egolessness) etc. Another is for the meditator actually to experience the highest level of consciousness. It is said that when this highest level of consciousness is experienced, there is the strength to practice those values that create well-being. How can we go beyond the stages of information, knowledge and even wisdom to experience the original state of being, that is, truth?

One way to describe the above process is to compare it to the game of the pole-vaulter. The pole-vaulter has a long pole to help jump over the barrier. The athlete runs for a short distance, and then quickly fixes the pole into the ground, enabling the body to be lifted up. When the athlete reaches a certain point in the air, the very pole that was used to get to that point is discarded; if the athlete fails to let go of the pole, then the body will be propelled backwards and it will be impossible to accomplish the task of jumping over the barrier.

The   same   mechanism  of   the  pole-vaulter  is  involved  when   a  person  wishes  to  attain realization  of  the  self  and  an experience of  a  higher  state  of consciousness. To experience realization, we have to  run some distance, collecting  the necessary information. Then we use the pole of knowledge and wisdom to lift us off the ground  of ordinary  consciousness. But, we must then let go of the very pole of knowledge that we used  to elevate our minds and  take  a jump  of  faith,  flying  over  the  barrier  of  'ordinary consciousness' to  experience  a new and higher level of consciousness. If there is no faith, then there is not enough trust to let go of the pole and jump.

Many people do not let go of the pole of knowledge and, as a result, fall into the spinning of speculation and the habit of analysis and discussion – the experience of spiritual consciousness eludes them. The pull of the ego draws the consciousness back to the ground. The irony is that they think they have jumped over the barrier and regard themselves as being in the privileged position of knowing. Then they think that from this privileged position they are in the position of judging and being better than those who 'know' in a different way or in other words those who are truly spiritually enlightened.

The ones who have let go of the pole can be characterized by their wider, creative perspective and their benevolent strength.

Our failures in human relations !

Most of Our Failures in Human Relations are due to “misunderstandings”.

We expect other people to react and respond and come to the same conclusions as we do from a given set of “facts” or “circumstances.”

No one responds or reacts to “things as they are,” but to his own mental images.  Most of the time, a person “understands” and interprets the situation differently from us. He is merely responding appropriately to what – to him – seems to be the truth about the situation.

Ask yourself:

“How does this appear to him?”
“How does he interpret this situation?”
“How does he feel about it?”

Try to understand why he might “act the way he does”

In dealing with other people try to see the situation from their point of view as well as your own.

Move Ahead With Blessings !

Become the one who flies forward with blessings from everyone.

Throughout the day check if you are moving forward with ease in whatever you do. Also check if you are performing any activity that enables you to get blessings from others. Each day take a thought right in the morning to work in such a way that automatically gets you blessings from others. Remind yourself of this at least thrice a day and you will find your own progress easy.

Focus Brings In Positive Thoughts !!

The Law of Focus and Attention

Wherever we focus our attention is where our thoughts are directed with most frequency and interest. Thus energy is produced in this direction, whether positive and beneficial energy or negative and harmful energy.

If we have a complicated mind, which thinks too much about certain things unnecessarily, our attention may be led towards the obstacles, problems, upsets and the things we worry about from a critical and negative viewpoint. By paying more attention to difficulties and problems, we feed these types of thoughts with our attention, so that we end up attracting these situations towards us. Finally, the problems and obstacles absorb us due to the amount of energy we have invested in them, turning what was perhaps a molehill into a mountain.

The situation does not necessarily change immediately on changing our attitude. With this inner change, however, we will have more energy, clarity and determination to face up to and change the situation. When we focus on seeking solutions to problems and difficulties with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, we attract positive energy towards us, and this helps us transform mountains into molehills.
